Karnataka Extends Doorstep Healthcare Scheme Statewide
Imagine the health department is sending out teams to knock on doors in Karnataka!
They're doing this to check for common health problems, especially for people 30 and older.
These teams, including health workers, will visit homes and offer check-ups.
If they find something, you can get free medicine and care at local health centers.
The goal is to catch problems early and help people stay healthy, like a neighborhood watch for your body.
Karnataka's Health Department is expanding the Gruha Arogya scheme across the state.
The scheme, launched in October 2024, initially piloted in Kolar district.
ASHA workers will conduct door-to-door visits to raise awareness and facilitate health check-ups.
Community Health Officers (CHOs) will screen for 14 non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Free medication and follow-up care will be provided at Ayushman Health and Wellness centers.
