Canada’s Sidhu to Lead 300-Member Trade Mission to India

Canada’s Sidhu to Lead 300-Member Trade Mission to India

Canada’s trade minister, Maninder Sidhu, plans to travel to India with nearly 300 Canadian business delegates.

The group will look for ways to do business with Indian companies.

They will explore areas such as energy, farming, technology and critical minerals.

Canada and India are also negotiating a trade agreement called the CEPA.

The next round of talks is scheduled to start in Ottawa on October 5.

Sidhu and India’s commerce minister, Piyush Goyal, say they want to make progress and reach an agreement by the end of the year.

The reports do not give the same trade goal for 2030: one says USD 70 billion and another says USD 50 billion.

Sidhu also described a CAD 70 billion goal for two-way trade.
