RBI Dividend to Ease Government's Fiscal Position, Says SBI
The RBI, like a bank for banks, is giving the government a big payment of money, about ₹2.69 lakh crore.
This is more money than they gave last year.
This extra money comes from things like selling dollars and earning interest.
This extra money will help the government manage its finances better.
It might also mean the government can spend more money on other things without going over budget.
This all means things should be a little smoother for the country's economy.
RBI announced a record dividend of ₹2.69 lakh crore for FY24-25.
This dividend is 27.4% higher than the previous year's transfer.
The RBI board recommended the risk provisioning under the Contingent Risk Buffer (CRB) be maintained between 7.5% to 4.5%.
SBI estimates the dividend will ease the fiscal deficit by 20 basis points.
Surplus payout driven by robust dollar sales, higher foreign exchange gains, and increased interest income.
