F1 Announces 2026 Sprint Race Venues, Hints at Changes
Formula 1 (F1) is planning some exciting changes!
They've announced where the shorter, faster sprint races will be in 2026 – in Shanghai, Miami, Montreal, Silverstone, Zandvoort, and Singapore.
These sprints add more excitement to the race weekends.
F1 is also thinking about having even more sprint races in 2027 and might change how they work, maybe even with a reverse grid.
They won't make changes in 2026 because they don't want to overwhelm the teams with the new car rules.
There will be a total of 24 races in 2026.
F1 has confirmed six venues for sprint races in 2026.
The confirmed venues include Shanghai, Miami, Montreal, Silverstone, Zandvoort, and Singapore.
Discussions are underway regarding an increase in sprint weekends and format changes from 2027.
Potential format changes being considered include a possible reverse grid element and fewer practice sessions.
The 2026 F1 calendar includes 24 races.
