Yadav urges probe into alleged Rs 6856 crore Yamuna cleaning scam by AAP
Imagine the city spent a lot of money, like enough to buy many, many toys, to clean up a river called Yamuna.
But, a report said the river is still very dirty, just like before.
So, a leader named Devender Yadav is asking the boss of the city, the Lieutenant Governor, to investigate if the money was spent properly or if some of it was wasted or taken unfairly.
He believes the people in charge didn't do a good job cleaning the river and wasted the city's money.
Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav has requested a probe into an alleged Rs 6856 crore scam related to Yamuna cleaning.
The alleged scam involves the previous Aam Aadmi Party government's spending on the river's cleanliness from 2017 to 2022.
A Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) report found no significant improvement in the Yamuna's condition despite the expenditure.
Yadav accused the AAP and BJP of neglecting pollution control, stating that 15 out of 100 deaths in Delhi are pollution-related.
The Congress leader urged the Lieutenant Governor to intervene and conduct a comprehensive investigation into the alleged misuse of funds.
