APEDA Facilitates First Frozen French Fries Export from Uttarakhand

APEDA Facilitates First Frozen French Fries Export from Uttarakhand

APEDA helped a company called Virun Global Trade Private Limited send the first batch of frozen French fries from Uttarakhand to Iraq.

This is a big deal because it shows that Uttarakhand can now sell processed food to other countries.

The shipment was 24 metric tonnes of French fries.

APEDA has been helping the company by taking them to big food shows around the world to meet buyers.

India is already a big seller of processed vegetables, and this new export from Uttarakhand is expected to create more opportunities for the state and the company.

The head of APEDA, Abhishek Dev, said that high logistics costs are a challenge for landlocked states like Uttarakhand, but they are working with the state government to make exports easier and more competitive.
