Chandigarh UT Clarifies Pay, Allowance Rules for Deputationists

The Chandigarh administration has set new rules for government employees who are on temporary assignments (deputation).

These employees can choose how they want to get paid: either based on the job they're doing now or based on their original job's pay.

There's a limit on extra money (allowance) for being on deputation.

If an employee chooses to get paid like their original job, they'll get dearness allowance at the rate of their original employer, as specified by the Government of India, dated March 28, 2024.

Also, if the administration wants to change any rules about pay that cost money, they need permission first, especially from the Ministry of Finance.
