Pawan Kalyan Pushes Great Green Wall for AP
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had a meeting with forest officials to talk about two big projects: the Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh and the 50% Green Cover programme.
He wants to protect the coast from cyclones and other natural disasters by planting more trees.
The plan includes creating a green belt along the coast with mangroves and other trees.
He also wants to involve local communities in this effort.
The government has already started planting trees along 402 km of the coastline and plans to do more.
They will use different sources of money to fund these projects.
Pawan Kalyan wants a detailed plan for these projects by the end of January.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan directed officials to implement the Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh and the 50% Green Cover programme urgently.
A comprehensive route map for both initiatives is to be prepared by the end of January with clear targets and measurable progress.
The Great Green Wall project involves creating a 5 km wide green belt along the 974 km coastline with mangroves, casuarina, and palm species.
The 50% Green Cover programme aims to increase green cover in the state, with funding from various schemes and CSR contributions.
