Kalyan School's Deepotsav Illuminates Building With 650 Student Diyas
A school in Kalyan called Balak Mandir Sanstha held a special festival called Deepotsav.
More than 650 students joined the celebration.
They brought lamps called diyas from their homes.
Some diyas were made of clay, some were made of glass, and some were colourful.
The children arranged the lamps around the new school building.
This made the building glow with hundreds of lights.
The festival happened on Deep Amavasya, a day linked to the Hindu festival of lights.
Important guests, like a city corporator, came to open the celebration.
The teachers and guests explained that a lamp's light stands for removing darkness.
They hoped the children would learn new things and share happiness with their families.
More than 650 students of Balak Mandir Sanstha's primary and pre-primary school in Kalyan participated in a Deepotsav on Deep Amavasya (Wednesday).
The new school building was illuminated with hundreds of traditional earthen, glass and colourful diyas brought by students from their homes.
The Deepotsav was inaugurated by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation corporator Shamal Mangesh Gaikar and Balak Mandir Sanstha office-bearer Ramesh Gore.
Organizers said the light of a lamp symbolizes the removal of darkness and hoped the festival would inspire children to seek knowledge and spread positivity.
The programme was conducted by Kamini Patil, with Meenakshi Sarode and PTA secretary Shashikant Gaware welcoming guests, while teacher Alka Jade proposed the vote of thanks.
