Kerala Lit Fest Discusses Polyamory and Loyalty

At the Kerala Literature Festival, writer Arundhati Ghosh talked about polyamory, which is when someone has more than one romantic partner with everyone's consent.

She said that in polyamory, loyalty is shown by what you do for your partners, not just by not doing certain things.

Ghosh also mentioned that there are many misunderstandings about polyamory, like people thinking it's just about having sex with multiple people or that polyamorous people can't have long-term relationships.

She emphasized the importance of honesty, responsibility, and dignity in any relationship.

The discussion also touched on the challenges of power dynamics and patriarchy within polyamorous relationships.

Ghosh pointed out that there are no legal rights for polyamorous people in India, as the laws are based on traditional monogamous relationships.
