It was a battle for who would be the next ruler of a powerful empire.
Two brothers, sons of the emperor, fought for the throne.
The fight happened in a place called Jajau.
Jajau has an old inn where travelers used to stay.
This inn still exists, with walls, rooms, and even a mosque.
Today, families live there, and there is also an old well and a bridge nearby, which remind us of the past.
Jajau, near Agra, was the site of a bloody war of succession among Aurangzeb's sons.
The battle took place on June 20, 1707, between Azam and Muazzam, who later became Bahadur Shah I.
Jajau is home to a surviving Mughal-era caravan sarai (inn) that once served travelers.
The sarai's structure includes cells for travelers, a mosque, and a fortified wall.
