Hidco Renames Three Biswa Bangla Assets as New Town
Hidco is changing the names of three important places in New Town.
These places were earlier called Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre and Biswa Bangla Gate.
The older names were given during Mamata Banerjee’s time as chief minister.
The new names will use New Town instead of Biswa Bangla.
Hidco issued a tender to make and install new signs.
The tender was issued on September 1.
Officials said the signs should be installed within a month.
It is not clear whether the nearby Biswa Bangla Metro station will also be renamed.
