Jadavpur University to Hold Independent BTech Counselling
Jadavpur University is holding a special counselling session to fill empty spots in its engineering programs.
This is because many students didn't take their seats after the first round of admissions.
The university will accept applications online and then hold in-person counselling.
Seats in popular fields like electrical and electronics engineering are still available.
Officials are concerned because students with lower exam scores will now be admitted, potentially impacting the university's ranking.
One professor believes that the university needs better facilities, not just local student preferences, to attract the best students.
Jadavpur University will conduct independent counselling for vacant BTech seats.
Online applications will be accepted from September 25 to October 7.
The counselling will be held physically from October 12 to 14.
Seats in electrical engineering and electronics remain unfilled.
The university dropped in national rankings due to factors like graduation outcomes.
