Paramita Heritage School celebrates Bonalu with traditional fervour in Karimnagar

A school in India celebrated a special festival called Bonalu.

Bonalu is an old festival celebrated in the Telangana region during a holy month called Ashada.

The principal started the celebration by lighting a special lamp for Goddess Mahankali.

Children took part by carrying traditional offerings on their heads.

Some kids dressed up as tigers, called Puli Veshalu.

Others dressed as Pothurajus, which are special festival characters.

Drummers played rhythmic beats while dancers performed colourful routines for everyone.

The principal told the children why the festival matters and how it is part of their heritage.

He encouraged them to learn about and keep Telangana's traditions alive.

The whole school, parents, and well-wishers joined in the joyful celebration.
