Telangana HC Upholds Hyderabad Beef Ban for Holidays
The Telangana High Court decided not to stop the city from closing beef shops on certain religious and national holidays.
A person sued, saying it was against their rights, but the court wasn't convinced because the closures were only for a couple of days and didn't affect everyone.
The court said it was to keep things peaceful during important events.
The court asked the city to explain their decision further but didn't change the rule yet.
Telangana High Court refused to stay the GHMC directive.
GHMC mandated closure of slaughterhouses and beef outlets for Independence Day and Janmashtami.
Petitioner argued the directive violated fundamental rights.
Court questioned how the petitioner was affected by the order.
