TGHRC seeks report on custodial death in Telangana
The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC) is looking into a serious case where a man named Karla Rajesh died after being in police custody.
His mother, Karla Lalitha, and a social activist, Manda Krishna Madiga, have accused the police of illegally detaining Rajesh, torturing him, and not letting his family see him.
The police allegedly used harsh methods on Rajesh, and he died from his injuries a few days later.
The Commission has asked the government to provide a detailed report about what happened and will discuss the case further on January 12.
Rajesh's mother wants the police officers involved to be punished and for a new examination of her son's body to be done.
TGHRC is investigating allegations of illegal detention, custodial torture, and death of Karla Rajesh.
Rajesh's mother, Karla Lalitha, and social activist Manda Krishna Madiga filed a complaint.
Rajesh was allegedly detained and tortured by Chilkur and Kodad rural police from November 4-9.
He was denied access to his family and died from injuries after being shifted to government hospitals.
