Maharashtra Orders Inquiry Into Bombay Hospital Employee Complaints

Maharashtra Orders Inquiry Into Bombay Hospital Employee Complaints

Workers at Bombay Hospital raised 16 complaints about their pay and workplace benefits.

These complaints include issues involving gratuity, provident fund, salary differences and deductions.

Maharashtra Labour Minister Ashish Jaiswal ordered officials to investigate each complaint.

Officials must listen to the workers, hospital management and union representatives.

They must submit a report by September 8.

Women employees also made a sexual harassment complaint.

A separate investigation will examine that complaint, and action may be taken if someone is found responsible.

Officials will also check whether eligible workers received at least the government-required minimum wage.
