UPS to cut 30,000 jobs in 2026
UPS, a big delivery company, is planning to cut 30,000 jobs this year.
They will do this by letting some people retire early and not filling other jobs when people leave.
They also plan to close some buildings and use more robots to do the work.
This is because they are trying to save money and are working less with Amazon, a big online store.
Last year, they already cut 48,000 jobs and closed 93 buildings.
They want to be more efficient and spend less money on workers.
UPS plans to cut 30,000 operational positions in 2026 through attrition and voluntary separation programs.
The company aims to save $3 billion by reducing its workforce and increasing automation.
UPS has already closed 93 buildings and deployed automation in 57 buildings in 2025.
The job cuts and closures are part of a larger turnaround plan to reduce dependence on Amazon.
UPS announced plans to cut Amazon shipment volumes by over 50% by mid-2026.
