Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Dropped After Scoring 81 for India
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a 15-year-old cricket player for India.
He recently scored 81 runs in a T20I match against Zimbabwe.
He needed 49 balls to make those runs.
This was his best performance in the series so far.
He had struggled to make a big impact in four of his first five T20I matches.
His strong innings earned him Player of the Match honors.
However, he was not chosen for India’s next playing XI.
The article says this decision raised questions because he had just scored a half-century.
His strike rate in that innings was also lower than his career IPL strike rate.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dropped from India’s playing XI after scoring 81 in the previous T20I.
The 15-year-old made 81 from 49 balls in the third T20I against Zimbabwe in Harare.
The innings came after he made little impact in four of his first five T20Is.
Sooryavanshi was India’s most recent T20I Player of the Match at the time of writing.
His 165.30 strike rate was below his reported career IPL strike rate of 228.95.
