Collector Explores Expanding Access to Sacred Tirumala Site
Imagine a special, holy pond called Tumburu Theertham, hidden in the forest near a famous temple.
People believe that bathing in it can make them feel better by washing away bad deeds.
Right now, people can only visit once a year.
A government official, the District Collector, went to visit it.
He wants more people to be able to visit because it's so popular.
However, since it is in a forest, he has to be careful not to damage the trees and animals.
He is working with forest experts to see if they can figure out how to let more people visit while keeping the forest safe.
District Collector Dr. S Venkateswar visited Tumburu Theertham, a sacred water body in Tirumala.
The Collector emphasized the spiritual importance of the Theertham, believed to wash away sins.
He noted that access is currently limited to once a year, typically in March.
The Collector discussed expanding access to accommodate growing pilgrim interest.
An on-site inspection was conducted with forest officials to assess the feasibility of increased access while preserving the ecosystem.
