Tamil Film Selvi Wins Full-House Reception at Busan

Selvi is a Tamil movie about a migrant nurse who cares for people in their homes.

Her work can take as long as 72 hours, and she has little control over her personal time.

Anjali Patil plays Selvi and produced the movie.

The film premiered at a festival in Busan on October 9, and the first screening was full.

Later screenings also sold out.

The movie was one of only two Indian films chosen for the festival’s Vision – Asia section.

Patil said the audience response made her feel proud and more confident as a producer.

Director Sailesh Rathnakumar said the experience encouraged him to make more films.

The film is next scheduled to screen at a festival in São Paulo.
