Bidhannagar Flower Show Sees Record Participation
The Bidhannagar Horticultural Society held its annual flower show, and this year it had almost twice as many participants as last year.
There were many different kinds of plants on display, like beautiful flowers, fruits, vegetables, and even tiny trees called bonsais.
Judges said the quality was very high, especially for certain types of flowers and the bonsais.
The show was opened by a doctor and prizes were given by important people.
One special plant was a rare Adenium that was 25 years old.
There were also creative bonsais, like one growing on a tire.
Corporate groups decorated pots with many colorful plants.
A lady named Mitali won a prize for her special purple flowers.
A family named Paul won prizes for their marigolds and roses.
Everyone enjoyed seeing all the beautiful plants!
The Bidhannagar Horticultural Society flower show had 63 participants, nearly double last year's 35.
Judges noted a significant increase in the standard of competition, especially in categories like Petunias, Chrysanthemums, and Bonsais.
A rare 25-year-old Adenium Arabicum plant was a highlight, with experts believing it to be one of the few of its kind in the country.
Rajat Boobna impressed with 14 bonsai entries, including innovative designs like a bonsai growing on a tire.
Corporate houses participated, with KMDA winning the first prize for their colorful and diverse plant arrangement.
