Hyderabad Witnesses Fiery Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse
A total lunar eclipse, often called a Blood Moon, occurred.
This event was visible across much of the world, including Asia, Europe, and Africa.
In India, Hyderabad was one of the locations that hosted viewing events.
During the eclipse, the Moon passed into the Earth's shadow and appeared red.
Local astronomy clubs and universities hosted viewing parties.
While some cloud cover was present, many were able to witness the spectacle.
Eclipses like these are shadow phenomena and do not pose a risk to people.
The next total lunar eclipse visible from India will be in December 2028.
A total lunar eclipse, or Blood Moon, was visible across Asia, Europe, Africa, and parts of India.
Hyderabad hosted several viewing events organized by astronomy clubs and universities.
The total phase of the eclipse lasted for 82 minutes.
The eclipse was the longest visible from India since 2022 and the first since July 2018 to be observed from all parts of the country.
Superstitions led some to avoid food and activity during the eclipse, though astronomers dismissed any risks.
