Rain-Damaged Road Forces Pregnant Woman’s 8-Km Doli Journey

A pregnant woman named Damini went into labour in her village after heavy rain.

The rain had badly damaged the road, so vehicles could not easily reach her.

Her family carried her in a doli, which is a kind of stretcher, for about 8 kilometres.

They reached a place called Shyamagadda and then took her by jeep to a hospital in Chintapalli.

Damini gave birth to a baby girl at the hospital.

The report said both mother and baby were safe and healthy.
