GATE 2026 Exam Dates Revised to Avoid UPSC Clash
IIT Guwahati, the group running the GATE 2026 engineering exam, is changing the test dates.
This is because the UPSC exam is on the same day.
This ensures that students taking both exams don't have to choose.
They've also given students more time to register.
If you sign up before September 28, 2025, it's cheaper.
There is a late fee to register until October 9, 2025.
The exam will be held in two sessions each day.
Results are expected to be released on March 19, 2026.
IIT Guwahati is rescheduling GATE 2026 to prevent conflicts with the UPSC ESE.
The original exam dates were February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.
Specific GATE papers (CE, EC, EE, GE, GG, IN, ME, PI) will not be scheduled on February 8, 2026.
The registration deadline without a late fee is September 28, 2025, and with a late fee, October 9, 2025.
The new exam schedule will be released shortly at gate2026.iitg.ac.in.
