Ranchi Zoo Welcomes Asiatic Lions and Crocodiles
The Ranchi zoo got some exciting new residents!
They now have a lion named Abhay and a lioness called Shabari, plus some crocodiles.
These animals came from another zoo as part of a swap to help the zoo.
The zoo needed new lions because some of the old ones had gotten old and passed away.
Now, people can go to the zoo to see these new animals and learn more about them!
Asiatic lions and crocodiles arrived at Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park in Ranchi.
The animals were part of a wildlife exchange program with Nandanvan Zoo & Safari.
The zoo had previously lost lions, leaving only one hybrid lion.
The new arrivals include a 14-year-old lion named Abhay and a 4-year-old lioness, Shabari.
The introduction aims to boost the zoo's biodiversity and enhance visitor experience.
