Abhishek Banerjee's Diamond Harbour Model Loses Lustre After Falta Rout
Abhishek Banerjee is a leader in West Bengal, a state in India.
He built a very famous plan called the Diamond Harbour Model to help people in his area.
During the COVID-19 sickness, his team did great things like testing many people and feeding lots of hungry people.
He also started free health camps called Sebaashray to help sick people.
He was so popular that he won an election by a huge number of votes.
He even said that nothing could ever break his plan.
But then the government in his state changed, and a new leader from a different party took charge.
After that, his plan fell apart very fast.
His team lost an important election badly, and many helpers quit.
Now police are checking his health camps because people say some things there were not done right.
TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's 'Diamond Harbour Model' collapsed within months after BJP's Suvendu Adhikari became West Bengal Chief Minister.
His Sebaashray healthcare project now faces multiple FIRs and 16 criminal complaints alleging medical negligence, fraud, and unauthorised health camps.
The model rose to national prominence during COVID-19 with 50,000 rapid self-tests in a single day and community kitchens feeding over 14 lakh people.
Banerjee won the 2024 Lok Sabha seat by over 7 lakh votes with an 89% vote share in Falta, vowing '10 lifetimes' would not dent his model.
In the Falta Assembly by-election, TMC's vote share crashed to 3.71% with a fourth-place finish behind CPIM and Congress, and at least eight councillors resigned within 24 hours.
