IRDAI Extends Public Insurance Registry Feedback Deadline
India’s insurance regulator is planning a new digital system called the Public Insurance Registry.
It wants this system to make insurance information easier to find and use.
The regulator has given people more time to comment on the plan.
Comments can now be submitted by October 17, 2026.
The earlier deadline was September 30.
The system could bring policy, claims and service information together securely.
Customers may be able to compare insurance products more easily.
It could also reduce repeated paperwork and identity checks.
The regulator said insurance agents and other intermediaries would still have a role.
