ED Arrests Sukriti Foods Promoter in Tirupati Ghee Case
The Enforcement Directorate is investigating claims that fake or adulterated ghee was used to make Tirupati Laddu prasadam.
The agency says the ghee was made with palm-based oils and several chemicals instead of genuine cow ghee.
It alleges that the product was labelled and supplied as special-grade cow ghee.
Kailash Chand Mangla, a promoter of Sukriti Foods, was arrested on September 17.
A special court in Visakhapatnam sent him to judicial custody.
The ED says Mangla helped obtain the adulterants and manufacture the product at his factory.
It also alleges that he used false records to hide what was really used.
The alleged supplies to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams took place from 2019 to 2024.
These are allegations in an investigation and are not a final court finding.
