Andhra Pradesh Distributes New Pattadar Passbooks
The government of Andhra Pradesh is giving out new land ownership books to farmers.
These books have the state's symbol and a special code that lets farmers see their land details quickly.
The old books had the photo of the previous Chief Minister, which the current government says was wrong.
The new books are part of a big project to make sure land records are correct and to help farmers.
The government is also using new technology like drones to measure land very precisely.
They are also giving out other help like free bus rides for women and money for mothers of school children.
The new books will help stop arguments about land ownership.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the distribution of 22 lakh new pattadar passbooks with the state emblem and QR codes.
The new passbooks replace old ones that had the previous Chief Minister's photograph, which the current government criticized as unconstitutional.
The initiative aims to correct land record distortions, fulfil an electoral promise, and resolve land disputes using modern technology like drones and rovers.
The distribution is taking place from January 2 to January 9 across villages where the resurvey process is complete, with officials ensuring old passbooks are collected.
The government is also providing additional welfare initiatives such as free bus services for women, cash assistance for mothers of school-going children, and free gas cylinders.
