Amit Shah Hoists Tiranga at Delhi Residence for Independence Day

India is getting ready to celebrate its Independence Day on August 15, 2026.

This will be the country's 80th Independence Day.

Amit Shah, a top government minister, hoisted India's national flag, the Tiranga, at his home in New Delhi.

He did this as part of a campaign called "Har Ghar Tiranga," which means "tricolour in every home."

The campaign asks every family to bring the national flag into their home and show love for the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also told everyone to take part with pride and remember the freedom fighters.

This year's campaign is special because it celebrates 150 years of the national song "Vande Mataram."

The idea behind the campaign is to make the flag a personal symbol of national pride, not just something official.

Other ministers joined in too, such as the Civil Aviation Minister, who flagged off a Tiranga rally.
