Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Boost Tiger Conservation Efforts
Foresters in Andhra Pradesh will count tigers and other animals in the forests from December 1 to December 8.
They will use special apps on their phones to record signs of tigers, leopards, deer, and plants.
This will help them understand if the number of tigers is increasing or decreasing and if there are enough plants for them to eat.
In Telangana, a new command center has been set up to monitor tigers and reduce conflicts between humans and animals.
This center will use cameras and tracking devices to keep an eye on the tigers and alert nearby villages when tigers are nearby.
Both states are using technology to better protect their wildlife.
Foresters in Andhra Pradesh will conduct a tiger and wildlife enumeration from December 1 to December 8 using the M-STrIPES app.
The enumeration will cover carnivores, herbivores, and vegetation in the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve and other forests.
Telangana has launched a tiger protection cell to monitor tigers and reduce human-animal conflicts using solar-powered CCTV cameras.
The tiger protection cell will initially cover Amrabad and Kawal tiger reserves and will expand to other wildlife sanctuaries.
Both states are using technology to improve wildlife protection and data transparency.
