Calcutta HC Dismisses PIL on Babri Masjid Replica Construction
The Calcutta High Court threw out a case that tried to stop someone from building a mosque called Babri Masjid in a place called Beldanga.
The person who filed the case, Kaunian Raza, said the mosque could cause trouble between different groups of people.
But the court said Raza didn't have the right to file the case and that the land where the mosque is being built is private, so the government doesn't need to give permission.
The person building the mosque, Humayun Kabir, is a politician who was kicked out of his party for doing this.
He plans to start his own political party soon.
The Calcutta High Court dismissed a PIL challenging the construction of a Babri Masjid replica in Beldanga, Murshidabad.
The court ruled that the petitioner, Kaunian Raza, had no legal standing to file the PIL.
The construction is on private land, so the court stated that no government permission is required.
The petitioner argued that the construction could disrupt communal harmony and violate constitutional rights.
Humayun Kabir, the suspended Trinamool Congress MLA behind the project, plans to launch his own political party.
