Case against 15-year-old over Modi remarks withdrawn after apology

Case against 15-year-old over Modi remarks withdrawn after apology

A 15-year-old girl named Ruchika Singh got into trouble for saying mean things about India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

She said them while attending a protest in Delhi.

A lawyer named Smriti Singh filed a police complaint about it.

The police registered a case, which is a formal official record that something may be wrong.

Later, Ruchika and the other girls said sorry in videos they posted online.

Prime Minister Modi said he forgave them.

Because of that, the lawyer decided to drop the case.

Ruchika's mother thanked the Prime Minister and asked the government to think about limiting children's use of apps like Instagram and Facebook.

The family's lawyer said the police paperwork described Ruchika wrongly, saying she was 25 instead of 15.

In the end, the complaint was withdrawn and everyone moved on.
