Qusra Settler Siege Exposes Intensifying West Bank Tensions

A Palestinian American man named Loui Ridi traveled from the United States to Qusra to protect his family home.

He says Israeli settlers surrounded the home and two other properties.

The people inside were cut off from water, electricity and food for about two weeks.

Israeli soldiers later entered the area and said they were there to protect residents and stop fighting.

Palestinian residents and officials say the settlers are trying to take land and force people to leave.

They also say violence and movement restrictions have made everyday life much harder.

Israel says its tighter security measures are meant to protect Israelis.

The dispute is part of wider tensions in the West Bank during the war that began after Hamas-led fighters attacked Israel in 2023.

Ridi says he wants the attacks to stop so people can live peacefully.
