NTA faces fresh UGC NET answer key delay protest threat
Every year in India, students take big exams to get jobs like college teachers or to get into PhD programs.
One of those exams is called UGC NET.
Many students took this exam in the summer.
But after the exam, the people in charge did not tell anyone the answers or the results.
More than a month went by and still nothing happened.
That made about seven hundred thousand students worried and upset.
Some students also said that a few of the exam questions were given out before the test, which would be cheating.
The test officials said they have not confirmed that this happened.
The students want the answers by August 10, or they will gather and protest outside the office on August 11.
This happened not long after another big exam problem, for a test called NEET, which made some officials lose their jobs.
More than a month after the UGC NET 2026 exam (June 22–July 5), the NTA has not released the provisional answer key or results.
About seven lakh candidates face uncertainty, with PhD admissions, assistant professor applications and other academic opportunities tied to UGC NET qualification.
Aspirants are demanding the answer key by August 10 and have warned of a protest at the NTA office on August 11.
Social media allegations claim around 90 Sociology questions matched material circulated before the exam, though this has not been officially confirmed.
The dispute follows the NEET-UG paper leak row, which led to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, NTA official terminations and amendments to the paper leak law.

Accountability for the delay
Aspirants and Social Media Users
Over 40 days without the answer key leaves seven lakh aspirants' academic futures in limbo; candidates say there is 'no answer key' and 'no accountability' and demand release by August 10.
NTA and Officials
The NTA has not released the answer key or results and has not publicly explained the delay; the article notes the delay is unusual because the previous six UGC NET provisional answer keys came in 3–16 days.
