Naveen Jindal Group Explores Nuclear Power Projects
The Naveen Jindal Group is talking to big companies like EDF from France and Westinghouse from the US about building nuclear power plants in India.
They also want to work with the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) to use their technology.
The group plans to build power plants that can make 18 GW of electricity, which is a lot!
They will spend about ₹2 lakh crore to do this.
The government wants India to have 100 GW of nuclear power by 2047, and the Jindal Group is helping with that goal.
They are looking at different places in India to build these plants and are checking out different types of reactors to see which ones are the best.
Other companies like Tata Power and NTPC are also planning to build nuclear power plants.
Naveen Jindal Group is in talks with EDF, Westinghouse, and NPCIL for nuclear power projects in India.
The group plans to develop 18 GW of nuclear power capacity with an investment of ₹2 lakh crore.
Potential sites for the projects include Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh.
The group is evaluating various reactor technologies, including EDF's EPRs, Westinghouse's AP1000, and NPCIL's PHWR.
