Telangana Woman Dies by Suicide Due to Rare Ant Phobia
A young woman had a very strong and scary fear of ants that started when she was a child.
This fear, called myrmecophobia, made her feel very anxious and could cause panic attacks.
Even though she tried to get help from doctors and counselors, the fear was still very hard for her to handle.
On Tuesday, while cleaning her house, she might have seen ants, which made her fear become too much to bear.
She tragically ended her life, leaving a note for her husband saying she couldn't live with the ants anymore and asking him to take care of their young daughter.
This sad event shows how serious mental health struggles, even from rare fears, can be.
A 25-year-old woman in Telangana died by suicide on November 4.
She suffered from myrmecophobia, an intense and irrational fear of ants, since childhood.
Her husband found her hanging at their Sangareddy district residence after breaking down the locked door.
A suicide note indicated her inability to cope with ants and requested care for her daughter.
