Jharkhand Youth Protest Over JPSC Exam Irregularities, Seek Cancellation

Many young people in a state called Jharkhand in India study for years to get government jobs, like becoming a police chief or a deputy collector.

To get these jobs, they must pass a big test called the JPSC exam.

This year, students found things that seemed very wrong with the test results.

A person who passed had only answered 48 out of 100 questions on one paper, which seemed impossible.

The test results also did not give clear passing scores for different groups of students, and the company that ran the test had been blacklisted.

So students went to the city of Ranchi and sat outside a big stadium to protest.

Some students even stopped eating to show how serious they were.

The government listened and agreed to cancel the first part of the test and start an investigation.

Police have arrested 19 people, and the head of the commission quit his job.

The students say these tests are their best hope for a good life, and they want all suspicious exams cancelled.
