Chandigarh to Introduce Monthly Parking Passes
Chandigarh is going to start selling monthly parking passes for cars and bikes.
A car pass will cost ₹500, and a bike pass will cost ₹250.
These passes will work at all parking spots in the city.
The city government thinks this will make about ₹20–25 crore every year.
They also plan to start a big project to give water 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but they will do it slowly over time.
They won't take a loan for this project but will use the money they have.
A special area will be chosen first to test this water project, and then they will expand it to the whole city.
Chandigarh to introduce monthly parking passes for cars (₹500) and bikes (₹250) from mid-January 2026.
Passes will be valid at all parking lots across the city, including markets and residential areas.
Expected annual revenue from parking passes is ₹20–25 crore.
Current parking passes are limited to selected locations and cost ₹420 for cars and ₹210 for two-wheelers.
