KUFOS Partners with Mas Sports for Fisheries Development
The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) has teamed up with Mas Sports and Leisure Private Limited to work together on fish farming and making better fishery products.
They will build fish farms in two places in Ernakulam district and also work on processing fish, adding value to it, and selling it.
This partnership will last for five years and will help students learn through training and hands-on work.
The plan is to create a special place where sports, farming, and other activities happen together.
This will help many young people get jobs and learn new skills.
They will grow their own food, raise animals, and use advanced fish farming methods.
The goal is to make a unique model that combines education, sports, and sustainable living.
KUFOS and Mas Sports and Leisure Private Limited have signed a 5-year PPP agreement for integrated fisheries development.
Fish farming facilities will be developed at Edayar and Kakkarnad in Ernakulam district.
The partnership focuses on fish processing, value addition, marketing, and creating learning opportunities for KUFOS students.
The initiative aims to create a holistic campus integrating sports, agriculture, fisheries, and animal husbandry.
The project is expected to generate employment opportunities and contribute to the social and economic fabric of the region.
