Delhi's Drainage Master Plan Targets Waterlogging
The Delhi Government is working on a big plan to fix the city's waterlogging problems.
They are building four large drains to help manage rainwater better.
These drains will cover different parts of Delhi and cost a lot of money.
The goal is to make sure that when it rains a lot, the water doesn't flood the streets.
This will make life better for people living in areas that often get flooded.
The projects are expected to be finished by 2026.
Delhi Government is implementing a 'Drainage Master Plan' to address waterlogging issues.
Four major trunk drain projects are underway: Mundka Halt-Supplementary Drain, MB Road Storm Water Drain, Kirari-Rithala Trunk Drain, and Rohtak Road Storm Water Drain.
The projects aim to improve drainage infrastructure and reduce waterlogging in areas like Kirari, Mundka, Bawana, Nangloi, South Delhi, and North-West Delhi.
The total cost of the projects is over Rs. 1,043 crore, with completion targeted by 2026.
The projects include provisions for tree transplantation, construction of footpaths, and shifting of utility services.
