India Leads Global Coconut Production With 31.24 Percent

India grows more coconuts than any other country.

It produces about 31 percent of all the coconuts grown around the world.

India grew more than 20 billion coconuts in one year.

Coconut trees covered about 2.19 million hectares of land.

The government gave money to help farmers plant and care for new coconut trees.

Thousands of farmers benefited from support to add new growing areas.

Keralam has the largest coconut-growing area, while Tamil Nadu is identified as the leading producer in the official statement.

India is also making products such as coconut oil, coconut milk, and activated carbon.

The government wants to increase coconut exports and farmer incomes.
