Form-7 Voter Deletion Row Leads to FIRs

Form-7 Voter Deletion Row Leads to FIRs

Police have opened cases in three districts over forms asking for voters to be removed from electoral lists.

The forms are called Form-7 applications.

In Ballari, a Congress worker alleged that 7,561 applications were submitted, far more than the limit he said applied.

The complaint also claimed many affected voters belonged to a minority community.

In Belagavi, a complaint involved 198 voters.

In Bhalki, a complaint involved 3,244 voters and alleged that some people were wrongly described as having moved away or being absent.

The complainant also alleged that some signatures were forged and applications were made without voters knowing.

These are allegations in complaints; police have registered cases to address them.
