Delhi Road Repair Project Fuels Minister Slap Controversy

Delhi Road Repair Project Fuels Minister Slap Controversy

A road in West Delhi is being repaired after residents said it had been damaged for many years.

The project costs Rs 15.76 crore and covers a 5.4-kilometre stretch.

AAP MLA Jarnail Singh said some newly laid parts were poor quality and posted videos about them.

During an inspection, PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh allegedly slapped an AAP worker who was filming.

AAP leaders condemned the alleged slap and demanded action against the minister.

BJP leaders said the inspection became disorderly because a crowd was brought to the site.

Some residents welcomed the repairs, while others said the new surface was already coming apart.

Traffic was also affected by crowds and barricades near the location.
