Amazon Expands North East Deliveries with New Freighter Flights
Amazon has started new flights to help deliver packages faster in the North East part of India.
Two airlines, QuikJet and Blue Dart, are flying these planes.
QuikJet started flying to Guwahati and then to Vietnam three times a week.
They carry a lot of packages, about 20 tonnes each way.
Blue Dart also flies to Guwahati six times a week.
The Guwahati airport is getting bigger and better.
It handled a lot of cargo, especially food that doesn't last long.
The airport is also planning to build new places to handle even more packages and create jobs.
This is all part of a big plan to make trade and deliveries better in the region.
QuikJet Airlines started three weekly freighter flights on the Delhi-Guwahati-Hanoi route for Amazon, carrying over 20 tonnes of cargo one way.
Blue Dart operates six weekly flights to Guwahati, transporting mail, parcels, and e-commerce items.
Guwahati airport handled 19,422 metric tonnes of cargo between April and November 2025, a 13% year-on-year growth.
Adani Group's Guwahati International Airport achieved a record 1,362 metric tonnes of cargo in December 2025 and plans to develop an integrated cargo terminal.
The overall airport development represents an investment of ₹5,000 crore, including ₹1,000 crore for MRO facilities.
