India urges safe navigation after Indian vessel sinks off Yemen

A boat from India called MSV Faize Noore Oliya was sailing in the Red Sea near Yemen when it was attacked, and it sank into the water.

The boat had 14 sailors on board, and 13 of them were from India.

The Yemeni Coast Guard rushed to help and rescued every single sailor, bringing them safely to a port called Mokha.

India's government said keeping ships and sailors safe is one of its most important jobs.

Indian officials asked everyone to stop attacking ships and innocent people.

A spokesperson for India's foreign ministry talked about the incident at a news briefing in New Delhi on Friday.

The minister in charge of ports and shipping said the attack was unprovoked and completely wrong.

India is working with shipping authorities and countries in the Gulf region to help keep sailors safe.

Indian embassies in the Gulf are running phone lines that work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to help anyone in trouble.

This attack has made many people worried about safety on a very busy shipping route called the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
