Harshotsav and Swar Basant Celebrate Indian Classical Music

Two music programmes celebrated Indian classical music.

Harshotsav 2026 was held at the Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad auditorium.

Its organisers wanted younger people to learn about India’s classical traditions.

Sarod player Kalyan Majumdar performed three ragas with tabla accompaniment.

Singer Deborshee Bhattacharjee sang khayals and a thumri.

Tabla player Samir Chatterjee presented music connected with three gharanas.

Swar Basant took place outdoors at Santoshpur Lake as a celebration of spring.

Nabanita Chowdhary, violinist Tejas Upadhye and singer Ruchira Panda performed different ragas and compositions.

Audiences heard vocal, instrumental and percussion music across both programmes.
