Thirty-one-year-old Seher Hashmi is riding from Delhi to Kanyakumari on a 350-kilogram motorcycle as part of the ‘Beyond the Horizon’ campaign.
Hashmi says she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and clinical depression at age 20, after experiencing misdiagnoses.
She says she consulted about 12 mental health professionals before finding a therapist and medication combination that worked for her.
Campaign organiser Shabnam Hashmi says the initiative expects to reach about 13,000 to 14,000 young people and distributes flyers in eight languages.
Seher says sharing her experiences can be emotionally triggering, but she wants to help young people who feel alone and encourage a more sensitive society.
