US Strikes Ship Breaking Iran Blockade; Houthi Attack Kills 6

The United States and Iran are in a fight, and the United States has put a wall of ships around Iran's ports so nothing can get in or out.

That is called a blockade.

A cargo ship named the Vela Nova tried to sail to an Iranian port anyway, so a US helicopter fired missiles at the ship's engine room to stop it.

The ship was disabled, and nobody was hurt right away.

Since July, the US says it has stopped many ships that tried to break the blockade.

In another place called the Red Sea, an attack by a group called the Houthis killed six people on a different ship named the Tihamah.

Iran says it will not open a very important waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, until the US stops the war and blockade, gives back Iran's money, and agrees to a ceasefire in Lebanon and Gaza.

President Trump called Iran tricky negotiators and said he may use more economic pressure or stronger military action.

Pakistan and Qatar say the sides seem close to a deal, but nothing is final yet.
